I was reading of the pope’s granting of a special “plenary indulgence” to “commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Virgin Mary’s appearance to St Bernadette at Lourdes.”
(An indulgence is supposed to be a remission of the temporal punishment due for sins committed. A plenary indulgence is supposed to be the remission of all punishment).
