We as God`s people ought to behave differently than the world. When we don`t react to offences and hurts with bitterness and revenge, the world notices the difference. Can the world see Jesus through me ?

1st Corinthians 13 says that love bears all things – the thought there is covering offences with a cloak of love. A lady who had been offended greatly said she didn`t feel any animosity because she was full of the love of Jesus. Now that`s the place to be !!

Proverbs 19 says that when we choose to pass over an offence done against us, it is our glory. But it`s difficult – how can we come to that place? Jesus said to love one another as He loved us. We have to move and operate in Calvary love.

Grudges can move down through generations. David had every reason to hold offence against King Saul’s family, but he overcame a potential bondage, by showing kindness to Saul`s grandson, Mephibosheth. We can overcome offences through grace and mercy.

Offences birth grudges, and grudges birth revenge. The Bible says that when people hurled insults at Jesus, He didn`t retaliate, but committed all things to His Father. Let’s be like Jesus !

We worry so much about what people are saying about us. A runner in a race cannot afford to listen to the jeers
of the crowd – they must fix their eyes on the prize. Let`s be Christ-pleasers – not man pleasers.

Offences are satan’s bait to lure us into a place of spiritual negativity.
The word offence can also be translated stumbling- block.
Refuse to allow the tempter to lure you in and trip you up through offences done against us.
